About The Position

Under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor, this role involves stripping, waxing, and buffing floors and corridors, along with performing various housekeeping duties to maintain the hospital in an orderly and sanitary condition. The position supports the hospital's mission, vision, and value statement by adhering to patient, staff, and visitor safety, patient confidentiality, and the Hospital's standard of customer service. Duties include dry/wet mopping, maintaining floor care programs (stripping, waxing, scrubbing, re-coating, restoring), using various floor machines, and ensuring proper use of wet floor signs. The role also requires cleaning and maintaining all areas of the hospital, including restrooms, walls, furniture, ledges, windows, ceilings, vents, and all physical surfaces. High and low dusting of horizontal and vertical surfaces using ladders and scaffolds is also part of the job. Responsibilities extend to transporting and disposing of refuse (infectious and non-infectious) according to city/state codes, vacuuming, spot cleaning, extracting, and shampooing carpets. The position requires organizing, cleaning, and maintaining the housekeeping closet and slop sink area, and storing equipment appropriately before breaks. All equipment must be cleaned at the end of each shift before storage. Cleaning and maintaining elevators, preparing on-site/off-site meeting rooms (cleaning, setting up, breaking down, storage), removing and transporting beds/equipment/furnishings, changing mattresses, and assembling beds are also included. The role follows prescribed methods for preparing discharge rooms, including isolation cleaning, completing discharge cleaning, removing linen, and making beds. Additionally, it involves receiving, packing, and distributing linen hospital-wide, and transporting, packing, weighing, and preparing soiled linen for pick-up. Removing and replacing linen, and making beds in on-call doctor's rooms are also duties. The position requires removing debris in outside areas, maintaining the exterior of the building using brooms, power washers, hoses, and blowers, and performing snow and ice removal.

Requirements
