About The Position

Under the supervision of the Production Area Lead, the Wax Finisher position is accountable for the final finishing of wax and wax/plastic patterns. This involves removing flash, repairing defects, and smoothing blends. The role requires repairing defects in pattern assemblies without changing their contour or shape by using wax as the filling material, dressing of pour cups, and attaching finished patterns to trees with pour cups. If performing gating work, assembly of plastic or wax cross arms and vent plugs must be completed. The position also involves data entry of finished pieces into the computer inventory system, preparation of cores (if working on IGT patterns), and blue sealing if working on plastic/wax patterns.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Ability to effectively work AND communicate as part of a cell team
