About The Position

Lex Innovations is a manufacturer of innovative power distribution and control systems designed to withstand rough use and harsh environments. Through Lex’s portable power systems (including distribution boxes, cable assemblies, work lighting, cable protectors, etc.) we provide our entertainment, industrial and military customers the energy needed to successfully accomplish their goals. The Waterspider will report to the Warehouse Manager. The Waterspider plays a critical role in supporting continuous production flow, inventory accuracy, and visual management systems within the manufacturing plant. This role ensures that materials are available to production lines in a timely, organized, and traceable manner—directly impacting productivity, quality, and efficiency. As a key player in the success of plant operations, the Waterspider is expected to demonstrate high attention to detail, proactive communication, and a commitment to lean principles. This role is integral to driving improvements in inventory control, material flow, labor utilization, and standard work adherence. The successful candidate will possess strong material handling and coordination experience, a sense of urgency, and a deep understanding of how to enable smooth, uninterrupted production.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in material handling, kitting, inventory control, or production support within a manufacturing environment (experience with electrical/mechanical parts preferred).
  • High school diploma or GED required. Additional years of direct experience may offset formal education requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting Bills of Materials (BOM), work instructions, and inventory transactions.
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory accuracy principles, Kanban systems, and ERP/WMS systems.
  • Current or prior forklift certification strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interface effectively across departments.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all material movements.
  • Practical problem-solving skills in dynamic environments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attendance and reliability, in alignment with company expectations.
  • Standing, walking, lifting, and material handling in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • May require extended periods of physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work overtime and flexible shifts as required by production demands.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure production workstations are continuously stocked with correct materials and components per Job Order Bill of Materials (BOM), without causing overstocking or shortages. Proactively stock production with the material needed to complete upcoming jobs.
  • Actively kit materials for upcoming jobs, verifying accuracy and completeness before delivery to the work cell. Ensure that all product is properly recorded in the ERP system.
  • Perform inventory transactions and material movements in the ERP system to ensure accurate, real-time inventory control. Learn to utilize company tools to ensure that transactions are completed correctly and completely. Learn company standards for issuing to job orders and tracking.
  • Work closely with the Kit Inspector, area supervisors, and line leads to resolve material discrepancies or kit shortages proactively. Resolve issues with the Warehouse lead, inventory analyst and Warehouse Manager when applicable.
  • Support and maintain Kanban replenishment systems, ensuring timely card movement, bin exchanges, and stock rotation.
  • Perform cycle counts to maintain 100% inventory accuracy and participate in root cause analysis for inventory variances. Take ownership of inventory inside of the production cells.
  • Serve as the communication link between warehouse, production, and materials coordination teams to escalate shortages, delays, or other issues affecting production flow.
  • Assist with shipping and packaging activities as needed to meet operational requirements. Ensure that product leaving the production area is fully issued in ERP system.
  • Maintain lot integrity and ensure all lots are issued appropriately in accordance with company standards.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, including forklift and material handling standards, and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Participate in LEAN initiatives, including 5S, visual management improvements, standard work audits, and process improvement projects.
  • Support ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision to support the success of the operation.
