Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 years mechanical experience
  • Ability to read meters, charts and gauges and accurately maintain records of plant operations
  • Ability to read and comprehend written technical information and to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize and/or analyze data
  • Ability to perform mathematical equations to determine chemical doses for flow rates and proper treatment
  • Ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools and/or materials used in performing essential functions
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of a water and/or wastewater utility
  • Experience managing maintenance of assets
  • The ability to travel to and from the job site as needed

Responsibilities

  • Train utility staff on routine tasks related to the operation and/or maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment facilities
  • Assist with maintaining plant compliance with PADEP standards and requirements
  • Ensure plant safety and sanitary requirements
  • Provide guidance on how to operate and maintain water and/or wastewater treatment equipment
  • Provide guidance to treatment and equipment adjustments below-standard variances are detected
  • Detect and report atypical conditions, such as: damaged, malfunctioning, and tampered meters, detecting and reporting leaks, high/low consumption, exposed wiring, and other safety hazards
  • Assess, review, and update existing job plans for equipment management
  • Perform other duties as needed
