About The Position

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Water/Wastewater Transmission and Utilities Project Manager in Dallas, Texas. As Project Manager, you will manage projects through study, design, and construction phases for water pump stations, wastewater lift stations, stormwater pump stations, pipelines, and utility infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
  • 6+ years of experience designing water pump stations, wastewater lift stations, and large and small diameter pipelines
  • Experience managing projects through study, design, and construction phases
  • Experience leading technical staff and reviewing engineering work for quality and consistency

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience serving as the primary client contact for municipal infrastructure projects
  • Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies, vendors, contractors, and partner firms
  • Experience reviewing shop drawings and selecting equipment and materials for conveyance projects
  • Experience managing and supervising staff

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary client contact and keep clients informed on project status, schedule, and key decisions
  • Manage projects through study, design, and construction phases for pump stations, lift stations, pipelines, and utility work
  • Perform and direct complex studies and investigations and prepare reports of findings
  • Manage and support direct reports in technical engineering and contribute to growth of team members
  • Coordinate project phases to keep work aligned with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations
  • Select equipment and materials and review manufacturer shop drawings for project use
  • Review calculations, seal drawings and reports, and maintain continuity, conformity, and quality across project deliverables
  • Direct assignments, schedule work, and provide technical oversight to engineers, technicians, designers, drafters, and field representatives
  • Advise construction teams on questions and issues that arise during construction and communicate with agencies, vendors, contractors, and partner firms
