About The Position

STV is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager for our Water Practice Group in Tampa, Florida. You’ll contribute immediately to water and wastewater project development and execution as part of a growing practice. Projects involve a wide range of types, sizes, and clients, including treatment facilities, pumping stations, and distribution and collection systems. As a Project Manager, you’ll lead projects from planning and design through construction, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical solutions for our clients. You’ll manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality while supporting client relationships, business development, and staff growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering, including experience managing projects.
  • Florida Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
  • Experience delivering municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of water and wastewater engineering principles, design standards, and permitting requirements.
  • Ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and client coordination.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and mentoring technical staff.
  • Ability to travel periodically for client meetings and project site visits.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with municipal utilities and public-sector clients in the Tampa Bay area or broader Florida market.
  • Experience with collaborative delivery of infrastructure projects, DBIA certification a plus
  • Experience with water or wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and distribution or collection systems.
  • Familiarity with Florida Department of Environmental Protection and applicable water management district permitting requirements.
  • Experience developing proposals, maintaining client relationships, and supporting business development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, design, permitting, and construction support of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and deliverables.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with subconsultants to meet project requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and review engineering calculations, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Serve as a primary client contact and communicate project progress, technical recommendations, and decisions.
  • Coordinate with local and state agencies to support permitting and regulatory approvals.
  • Monitor project financial performance, manage changes, and address issues affecting delivery.
  • Support proposals, fee estimates, client presentations, and other business-development activities.
  • Build and maintain client relationships and identify opportunities for additional work.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support the development of project staff.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required.
