HDR's Water/Wastewater Project Manager will direct and coordinate the work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project’s lifecycle from development and initiation to close-out, for various water and wastewater treatment systems, pumping systems, distribution systems, and/or collection systems projects. This role involves establishing and maintaining client relations, and participating in marketing, contractual design, and production meetings. The Project Manager will conduct concept, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Engineers, appropriate technical professionals, and other disciplines. They will serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in water and wastewater engineering projects, performing assignments and resolving issues of greater scope and complexity. Responsibilities include preparing analysis and study-level reports for water and wastewater treatment, pumping, and distribution and collection systems, as well as preparing detailed plans and specifications for water and wastewater systems and determining appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection. The role also entails preparing and analyzing process and hydraulic calculations, tracking financial aspects of projects, and coordinating and adjusting work effort with the team to ensure that work is completed within parameters for agreed-to budget and schedule. Collaboration with Area Manager, Water Business Group Manager, Water Program Managers, Section Managers, Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for project reviews is expected. Additionally, the Project Manager will perform quality control reviews of completed designs and mentor junior engineers and technical staff as needed.
