About The Position

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer for our Saratoga Springs, NY office. As part of our design and process teams, you will work on water and wastewater projects, including drinking water/wastewater/reuse treatment facility upgrades, conveyance systems, wellfields, stormwater management, water resources, and asset management. Hazen and Sawyer is an employee-owned company focused on 'all things water,' involved in planning, design, and construction oversight of environmental infrastructure. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering
  • PE license
  • Strong interest in the water/wastewater industry
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • 5-12 years of experience in planning, design, or construction of water-related projects
  • Experience related to preparing conceptual/feasibility studies, development of construction drawings and specifications, bidding assistance, and support of office and field-related construction services
  • Familiarity with engineering and construction management software
  • Capable of supervising staff and managing small projects

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering
  • Proficiency in GIS, CAD/BIM, BioWin, PowerBI, and databases

Responsibilities

  • Participation in the evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, stormwater, reuse, and infrastructure projects
  • Participation in a project team from the initial study and conceptual design stages through to the construction of major water related infrastructure projects.
  • Fieldwork and site visits from design through construction may be required
  • Project management of a large project or several small projects
  • Client development and management supported by our local offices
  • Planning, organizing, and supervising staff of engineers on projects
