About The Position

Merrick is seeking a Water/Wastewater Process Engineer to join our growing Water Group in Colorado, Idaho, or Texas. This is an opportunity to work on innovative water, wastewater, and reuse systems that make a real difference. Local/regional candidates are preferred, but remote candidates will be considered if they are willing to travel to client sites and local offices 2x per month. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited School.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in design, construction oversight, and operation of water and/or wastewater infrastructure facilities and projects.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • P.E. (Professional Engineer) License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited School.
  • Experience with Hydraulic modeling (PIPE-FLO, WaterCAD, Fathom, other).
  • Experience with Wastewater biological modeling (Biowin, GPSx, Sumo, other).
  • Experience with Industrial water and wastewater treatment.
  • Experience with Design Team and Project management.
  • Experience with Alternative delivery methods.

Responsibilities

  • Design water and wastewater treatment facilities, including advanced treatment/nutrient removal and reuse, distribution and conveyance, and related infrastructure balance of plant.
  • Prepare and review design drawings, details, layouts, specifications, cost estimates, studies, reports and work products to include review of designs by others for standard conformance.
  • Provide construction support and oversight including administration, limited inspection, start-up, commissioning, operations, and maintenance.
  • Interface with project team including stakeholders, clients, equipment suppliers/vendors, and Local, State, and Federal government agencies.
  • Provide clear written and verbal communications for internal/external project meetings, project presentations, and all deliverables.
