About The Position

EXP is seeking a Water & Wastewater Engineering Student (Co-op) to gain valuable hands-on experience, work alongside industry professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects that support sustainable water and wastewater infrastructure. This role involves assisting with water and wastewater treatment process evaluations and design, preparing technical reports, participating in process modeling and data analysis, and supporting field investigations. The student will also contribute to engineering drawings, specifications, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering (Environmental or Water Resources specialization), or a related engineering discipline.
  • Returning to school following the work term.
  • Strong interest in water treatment, wastewater treatment, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals related to water and wastewater processes.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous co-op or internship experience.
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment processes and operations.
  • Experience with engineering software, data analysis tools, or process modeling applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites if required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with water and wastewater treatment process evaluations and design activities.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, calculations, and project documentation.
  • Participate in process modeling, data analysis, and performance assessments.
  • Assist with water quality and wastewater treatment studies.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze operational and environmental data.
  • Support field investigations, site visits, and condition assessments, as required.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering drawings, specifications, and design packages.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Assist with project coordination, scheduling, and administrative tasks.
