About The Position

STV is seeking a professional Water/Wastewater Engineering Specialist to join our Water/Wastewater division. STV specializes in the planning, organization, and development of engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities. This role is for individuals who are innovative, enjoy problem solving and technical challenges, like collaborating to find the best solution, and want to be in an environment where they are valued as they learn and grow.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited University or NCEES equivalent
• Experience or specific course work in water and wastewater systems is a plus
• Successful completion of the FE exam (EIT) or the ability to complete in the first 6 months
• Ability to work and communicate well will other design disciplines
• Possesses strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS is a plus
• Participation in AWWA, WEF, ASCE and other professional organizations as well as joining a committee would be a plus

Responsibilities

• Production of contract documents including plans and specifications
• Perform pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations
• Perform pump calculations and develop system curves for sizing pumps
• Water and Wastewater treatment process engineering and design support
• Prepares construction and design cost estimates
• Develops project specific specifications
• Perform engineering duties in planning and designing water and wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage, and treatment systems
• Responsible for or willingness to learn project management, client interface and business development of future projects
• Makes site visits during design and construction to inspect facilities
• Review construction shop drawings and submittters for compliance with project design documents
