About The Position

The Water Business Line is seeking a co-op/intern for their Clifton Park, NY office. This internship focuses on planning, design, and construction administration for water, wastewater, stormwater, and water management projects. Technical duties include facilities planning, project design, permitting, construction administration, and developing design reports and construction documents. Projects may involve treatment plants, pumping systems, pipelines, green infrastructure, and flood protection. As part of the design and engineering teams, the intern will contribute to creating impactful structures and spaces.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or closely related field (must be enrolled in a degree seeking program during the internship period)
  • Must live a commutable distance from the Clifton Park office

Responsibilities

  • Work on various aspects of water/wastewater/stormwater treatment and conveyance projects
  • Involve in planning, process evaluations, detailed design, and construction administration
  • Conduct fieldwork such as site visits, observing construction activities, collecting samples, analyzing water quality data, evaluating technologies and plant operations, troubleshooting processes, and optimizing operations
  • Conduct condition assessments and overall performance evaluations of water/wastewater/stormwater facilities
  • Prepare and deliver effective presentations
  • Participate in client meetings
  • Interact with clients and subcontractors in the field
  • Work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously
  • Possess strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Take on new projects and other challenges regularly
  • Exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
