About The Position

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer with 4 – 10 years of experience to join their team in El Paso or Las Cruces. The role will primarily focus on water/wastewater related projects, including supply, conveyance, treatment, and disposal. The company is looking for a self-motivated individual eager to lead and grow professionally within a fast-paced team environment. This position offers the opportunity to work on water/wastewater projects and collaborate with other sectors' projects, contributing to the firm's culture and enabling professional growth. The role may involve production management, project management, contracting, mentoring, and client management.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering emphasis
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, water/wastewater design standards, construction practices, and applicable regulations
  • 4+ years of experience in civil engineering, Water/Wastewater discipline preferred
  • PE License required
  • Experience with plan production AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with systems modeling in WaterCAD/SewerCAD
  • Experience with technical report writing and engineering reports

Nice To Haves

  • Plant3D and Revit experience a plus
  • Experience with pump sizing and selection, open channel and pressured pipe system design, and other environmental calculations is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform planning, analysis, design, and construction support for municipal drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution systems, wastewater collection, pump stations, lift stations, force mains, treatment, and related municipal systems.
  • Work independently on assigned engineering project and tasks while collaborating effectively with Wilson & Company project managers, technical leads, junior engineers, designers, and support staff.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design memoranda, construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and permitting support documents.
  • Support hydraulic modeling, utility capacity analysis, alternatives evaluation, and design development for water and wastewater systems.
  • Assist with project management activities, including task coordination, schedule tracking, budget awareness, quality control, and deliverable review.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including RFIs, submittal reviews, field condition evaluations, design clarifications, and change-related support.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients, funding agencies, regulators, and other engineers and architects in an effective and efficient manner to ensure successful project execution.
