About The Position

HDR's Water/Wastewater Engineer will serve as a project manager or technical leader for water and wastewater treatment systems, pumping systems, distribution systems, and/or collection systems. This role involves conducting concept, design development, and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Engineers, appropriate technical professionals, and other disciplines. The engineer will prepare and review scopes, budgets, and schedules for water and wastewater projects, and prepare analysis and study-level reports for water and wastewater treatment, pumping, and distribution and collection systems. Responsibilities also include preparing detailed plans and specifications for water and wastewater systems, determining appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection, and performing process and hydraulic calculations. The role requires coordinating workload to complete deliverables on schedule and within budget, working closely with the Area Manager and multiple Project Managers for project reviews, performing quality control reviews of completed designs, and mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 3 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering OR Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 5 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.
  • Experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in water quality analysis.
  • Experience in biological treatment processes and systems.
  • Experience in physical and chemical treatment processes and systems.
  • Experience in statistical analysis.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience with Revu BlueBeam.
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Hold Engineer-in-Training certification or have passed Fundamentals of Engineering examination.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer licensure is not a prerequisite for this position.
