Water/Wastewater Discipline Engineer
About The Position
A multi-discipline engineering firm with over 70 years in business is looking for a Water/ Wastewater Discipline Engineer for their Huntington office! This role involves using technical knowledge and experience to lead projects from planning and design through construction of wastewater conveyance systems, including pipelines, pump stations, storage, and end-of-pipe treatment facilities. The engineer will also be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates, as well as developing construction documents and managing engineering services during construction. Coordination with other disciplines, development of medium to large planning and design projects, and creation of complete construction packages are key aspects of this position. Additionally, the role includes creating and managing cost estimates and project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget, and performing detailed engineering calculations and analysis. Business development activities, such as proposal development and client management, are also part of the responsibilities, along with meeting and exceeding client expectations and mentoring junior staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical or mechanical engineering or related field of study
- 8+ years of experience in the planning, design, and construction of municipal water/wastewater
- Prior experience in process design, treatment plants upgrades and pump station design
- Experience writing/developing proposals
- Experience utilizing design software to solve complex issues
- PE License
- Strong data analysis and technical problem solving experience
- Successful applicants must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Use technical knowledge/experience to lead projects
- Manage projects from planning/design to construction of wastewater conveyance systems (pipelines, pump stations storage, and end-of-pipe treatment facilities)
- Prepare, review, and approve project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
- Lead construction documents/specifications development
- Manage engineering services during construction
- Coordinate project tasks with other disciplines

- Prepare complete construction packages
- Create/manage cost estimates and project schedule
- Complete tasks on schedule and within budget
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations and analysis
