Water / Wastewater Design Engineer — Entry Level
About The Position
This is an entry-level position with a respected engineering consultancy working on water and wastewater infrastructure projects across municipal and authority sectors. You'll contribute to real project work from day one, gaining hands-on exposure to both design and construction phases of essential civil infrastructure. It's a launchpad into a long-term career in water and wastewater engineering, with mentorship from experienced professionals built into the role. This position is designed for growth. You'll be actively involved in meaningful engineering work — not observing from the sidelines. You'll build a strong technical foundation in one of the most stable and impactful sectors in civil engineering, learning directly from experienced project engineers and managers across the full project lifecycle.
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- 0–3 years of experience in water/wastewater or civil infrastructure projects
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred
- Strong willingness to learn and develop technical capability
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with design work on water supply, storage, transmission, and distribution systems
- Support wastewater projects including collection, conveyance, pumping, and treatment systems
- Perform engineering calculations and assist with technical report writing
- Prepare permit applications, cost estimates, and construction specifications
- Support plan preparation and design documentation
- Assist with construction administration activities
- Review land development submissions for municipal and authority clients
- Contribute to escrow preparation and project coordination tasks
