About The Position

GFT is seeking a Water/Wastewater Conveyance Engineer to join our Water Team in Colorado. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Denver, CO office. Joining the water team at GFT means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. Our team excels in dams and levees, advanced water and wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and conveyance, collection, and transmission. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • P.E license in Colorado.
  • 5+ years of related experience, including: Design and construction of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, storm water systems, pipelines, and pump/lift stations.
  • Proficiency with CAD, Civil 3D, and Bentley.
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Functional experience with MS Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Project experience with ditch conveyance structures (stormwater, irrigation, or dam discharge pipelines).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and support to a team of skilled engineers, leveraging expertise to enhance team capabilities while managing multiple projects.
  • Oversee the planning, design, and construction of water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems, as well as pump/lift stations.
  • Prepare construction documents and specifications.
  • Manage construction oversight and administration for both new construction and rehabilitation projects.
  • Manage and lead condition assessment evaluations for water, wastewater, and storm system assets, including large diameter pipelines and pump/lift stations, using various approaches and technologies.
  • Meet established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment, including project/task scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Work directly with clients to identify needs and provide solutions, while leading teams in preparing winning proposals and successful presentations.
  • Coordinate the execution of projects with other disciplines and the Project/Program Manager.
  • Develop small to large design projects from inception to completion.
  • Prepare complete construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water/wastewater systems for clients.
  • Manage and lead the growth of client relationships.
  • Create and manage cost estimates and project schedules, ensuring design tasks are completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Lead the preparation of detailed engineering calculations and analyses, and utilize design software to solve complex issues.
