About The Position

Stantec Consulting Services Inc. is seeking multiple Water/Wastewater Civil Engineers in Bellevue, WA. This role involves applying civil engineering principles to new and existing water, recycled water, wastewater, and conveyance projects. Responsibilities include developing and preparing technical deliverables such as reports, planning studies, specifications, detailed design drawings, construction submittal reviews, calculations, and models (e.g., treatment process and process control models). The engineer will also conduct treatment process evaluations supported by field assessments and water quality sampling, supervise project teams, and coordinate special planning and engineering studies. This includes directing the work of other engineers and technical staff, delegating tasks, and providing consultation in specialized areas like water/wastewater treatment, making decisions, and solving problems. The role also requires preparing client presentations, coordinating with clients throughout project phases, participating in project meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and assisting with business development and project pursuits.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, and 6 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, and 8 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience.
  • 6 years of experience with Biowin, SIMBA#, SUMO, or GPS-X modeling tools.
  • 6 years of experience preparing engineering studies and designs for water/wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects.
  • 6 years of experience conducting modeling, evaluations, and planning for water/wastewater treatment process design including process control simulations and analysis.
  • 4 years of experience with MATLAB or Python.
  • Active U.S. Professional Engineer license.

Responsibilities

  • Apply civil engineering principles for new and existing water, recycled water, wastewater, and conveyance projects.

  • Direct the work of project engineers, including other disciplines such as drafters, designers, and other engineers.
  • Delegate and oversee the work of technical and supporting staff.
  • Provide consultation in specialized areas such as water/wastewater treatment, make decisions, and solve problems.
  • Prepare presentations to clients and for professional meetings.
  • Coordinate with clients on projects during planning, design, and construction.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Assist with business development and project pursuits.
