This recruitment may be used to fill future full-time and Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions for Water Treatment Technicians. LTE positions are project/program based and typically have a predetermined expected end date. This position is based at both the Marston Treatment Plant and the Foothills Treatment Plant, with employees potentially assigned to either location based on operational needs. The Water Treatment Tech is an entry-level position where, under direct supervision, trainees will learn and perform various jobs necessary for the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants and appurtenant structures. The role involves learning to use physical and chemical conventional water treatment techniques to provide an adequate supply of safe, high-quality water to the public. As an asset management technician, trainees will learn to maintain plant equipment and structures such as chemical feed/storage, piping, valves, basins, and reservoirs. The Water Treatment Sr. Tech, under general supervision, performs a variety of duties essential to the operation and maintenance of two or more water treatment plants (including potable and recycled water). This role involves maintaining plant equipment and structures such as chemical feed/storage, instrumentation, piping, valves, basins, and reservoirs to ensure safe, adequate, and reliable delivery of high-quality water.
