About The Position
The City of Staunton Public Works Department is seeking applicants to join its team as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. Successful candidate operates water treatment plant equipment such as pumps, control panels, chemical feeders, filters, repairs and adjusts equipment, maintains properties, records reading of gauges, tanks and meters, dispatches emergency services for public works activities.
Requirements
- HS diploma/GED/equivalent training
- Ability to keep records
- Ability to prepare accurate reports
- Ability to perform mathematical computations
Nice To Haves
- Experience in mechanical systems
- Valid VA Waterworks License
- Trainee with ability to obtain license within 18 months of hire
