About The Position
Aquatech is hiring a full-time, non-exempt Water Treatment Plant Operator for its Spring Hill, Florida location. The operator will monitor plant operations, maintain operational records, perform quality checks and chemistry control, handle consumable chemicals and treated-water loading, and support sampling and plant maintenance. The role requires prior experience operating and maintaining industrial water treatment plants and knowledge of relevant chemical processes. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a pre-employment 5 Panel Test.
Requirements
- Prior experience operating and maintaining industrial water treatment plants involving at least some of the following: pre-treatment (PT), demineralization (DM), reverse osmosis (RO), dissolved aeration flotation/filtration (DAF), digestors, or wastewater treatment units.
- Knowledge and experience in chemical processes involved in pre-treatment, demineralization, and wastewater treatment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and maintain a positive attitude.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagram-form instructions using common sense.
- Ability to work hands-on and complete tasks with minimal monitoring.
- Ability to lift, carry, or move 50 pounds; may need to climb ladders and must not be afraid of heights.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while on site.
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods and maintain a high degree of concentration in a busy area.
- Must complete a pre-employment 5 Panel Test.
Responsibilities
- Monitor plant operation.
- Keep records of operation.
- Carry out quality checks and chemistry control.
- Report abnormalities to the local supervisor.
- Load and unload consumable chemicals.
- Load outgoing treated water into trucks.
- Monitor filter press operation.
- Coordinate sludge storage and movement.
- Assist plant operators in collecting water samples.
- Assist in plant maintenance as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
