About The Position

We are seeking a Water Treatment Operator for a contract-to-direct assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The selected candidate will p erform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of a water production and distribution system on an assigned shift. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm This position has a pay rate of $29.14/hr This position requires a New Mexico Level 3 Water Certification

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
A valid Drivers License
A valid New Mexico Level 3 Water Certification
1+ years’ experience in operating water / wastewater treatment plants

Responsibilities

Operates, maintains and performs minor repairs on water production, treatment and distribution systems
Installs operates and repairs water distribution and collection systems including mains, service lines, fire hydrants, water valves, PRV’s and water meters
Reads and monitors gauges, meters and control panels
Starts and stops equipment and operates valves to route and control flow
Makes process control adjustments, determines and sets proper chemical dosage and flow rates
Operation of instrumentation and controls and SCADA
Diagnoses operating problems and performs necessary corrective action during work shift
Inspects equipment, oversees maintenance and initiates needed repairs
Complies and reports non-compliance with Project Policies and Procedures
Makes operating decisions in absence of supervisory personnel
Prepares required reports and maintains complete record keeping procedures
Participate in, and assist with, the training of Operators
Conducts meetings and training sessions pertaining to safety, process control, etc.
Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings
Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses
Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner
Performs other duties as required
