About The Position
CITY OF STAUNTON WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR The City of Staunton Public Works Department is seeking applicants to join its team as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. Successful candidate operates water treatment plant equipment such as pumps, control panels, chemical feeders, filters, repairs and adjusts equipment, maintains properties, records reading of gauges, tanks and meters, dispatches emergency services for public works activities. HS diploma/GED/equivalent training, ability to keep records, prepare accurate reports and perform mathematical computations required. Experience in mechanical systems and/or valid VA Waterworks License preferred. Consideration will be given to a trainee with ability to obtain license within 18 months of hire. $19.15–$20.00/hr DOQ/E (+) excellent benefits. Position works 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays. This position is open until filled.
