About The Position

Under direct supervision, an employee in this class performs water purification operations at an assigned water plant for the Sewerage and Water Board. Work includes performing technical tasks in maintaining, adjusting, and monitoring activities such as chemical flows, pump operations, and sample testing. Work objectives are to provide safe drinking water to residents, industry and the general public, and to maintain regulatory compliance with EPA regulatory standards concerning drinking water standards; and related work as directed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current Class I Water treatment License issued by the Louisianan Department of Health and Hospitals.
  • Must provide original documents of qualifying credentials prior to start date.
  • Minimum age of 18 years for work requiring hard physical labor, operation of or proximity to hazardous machinery, exposure to hazardous chemicals, or participation in any other processes or procedures which are prohibited or limited by the Louisiana State Child Labor Law.

Nice To Haves

  • Some positions may require a current Louisianan Commercial Driver's License.
