Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for mechanical construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to accurately define project scope, requirements, and execution strategies.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and design documents to identify labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and incorporate vendor and subcontractor quotations to ensure pricing accuracy and project feasibility.
  • Assess material and equipment requirements, recommending cost-effective solutions that align with project specifications and client expectations.
  • Prepare and submit complete bid proposals, ensuring compliance with project requirements and submission deadlines.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential cost, schedule, and operational impacts, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Continuously evaluate estimating processes, market trends, and industry best practices to improve estimate accuracy, operational efficiency, and bid competitiveness.
