About The Position

SOCOTEC’s Environment and Safety Team provides expert environmental, health and safety consultancy and compliance services that help organisations manage risk, protect people and safeguard the environment. Our services include environmental monitoring and consultancy, water safety and hygiene solutions with Legionella risk assessments and water system management, fire safety consultancy and inspections, occupational hygiene assessments and workplace exposure monitoring, and specialist advisory support on regulatory and sustainability challenges. We use industry-leading tools and science-based approaches to deliver accurate data, practical guidance and innovative solutions that ensure compliance with UK legislation, minimise environmental impact and create healthier, safer workplaces for clients. This role involves supporting existing clients with water treatment compliance and delivering contractual obligations. You will undertake on-site water analysis using test kits across a range of key client contracts, monitor and interpret results from cooling systems, steam boilers and general industrial water treatment systems, and provide clear verbal and written recommendations based on analytical findings. You will also manage client relationships at all levels to ensure excellent client satisfaction and long-term retention, identify opportunities to add value to existing contracts through consultancy and account management, liaise effectively with internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of contractual requirements, and manage your own workload and diary effectively to deliver an efficient and responsive service.

Requirements

  • A science or engineering qualification, or equivalent industry experience within the water treatment sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of water hygiene and traditional water treatment practices.
  • Experience carrying out on-site analysis of cooling systems, steam boilers and industrial water treatment systems.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a strong client focus.
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets while identifying opportunities for business growth.
  • The ability to work independently, manage your own time effectively and maintain excellent attention to detail.
