About The Position

JW Water is seeking a dependable and motivated Water Distribution Technician to join our team. This position supports the operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities and distribution systems. Responsibilities include system maintenance and repairs, meter reading, water-quality sampling, and compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic equipment repairs.
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and data collection.
• Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials and equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in water operations, utility maintenance, plumbing, electrical work, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Experience operating a backhoe is a plus.
• Familiarity with water treatment and distribution processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and repair leaks within the water distribution system.
• Inspect machinery and equipment and perform routine maintenance and repairs.
• Read water meters and collect water-quality samples.
• Collect, analyze, and document data related to water quality and treatment processes.
• Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance.
• Safely lift and move equipment and materials as needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
• Follow all safety procedures when operating vehicles, machinery, and heavy equipment.
• Participate in on-call and emergency-response duties as assigned.
