About The Position

A vessel Maintenance Tech (MT) is an individual that works on the Operations Team and reports directly to the Fleet Mechanic. The MT will be responsible for, but not limited to, engine checks, assisting with general repairs to help maintain the water taxi fleet, reporting all repairs and tasks for each water taxi vessel, work along side our mechanic to ensure that repairs are completed properly, and to use overall experience and gained knowledge to ensure that the water taxi fleet is operating safely and efficiently. Do I need a boating license? No! A license or certificate if preferred, buy not mandatory for this position. If you have the appropriate credentials, it will allow you to operate the vessels for maintenance related trials and/or underway checks. Will I be eligible for benefits? ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | Include but are not limited to the following: ACHIEVE/SUCCEED all Maintenance goals identified in the budgets and/or Maintenance Strategic Plan. ASSIST the D/O with planning, coordinating, executing, and supervising a strategic Maintenance plan and budget related to Safety, Maintenance & Repair, Training & Education, Regulatory Compliance, Policies & Procedures, Quality Control, and Process Improvement goals. DEVELOP/MAINTAIN strong and lasting relationships/partnerships with local organizations and State/Federal agencies. GENERATE savings opportunities, without compromising safety, through all available channels. ENSURE the timely development of Policies & Procedures to support Operations as it pertains to Maintenance. ASSIST the D/O in managing all team members (organic & third party) created or assigned to support Maintenance. REPORT progress of Maintenance during weekly meetings and when prompted by the BWT leadership team. OVERSEE preventative maintenance and other operational matters. PASS all USCG Certificate of Inspection (COI) inspections.

Requirements

Be 18 years of age or older.
Passion for BWT’s mission.
Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a commercial maritime/transportation operation, or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience of improving maintenance effectiveness and efficiency.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to be effective working independently as well collaboratively with diverse teams; ability to adapt effectively to a changing work environment.
Proven program management skills, including the ability to handle a portfolio of projects and work flexibly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
An excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively interface with and effectively present to owner(s), executive management, BWT's Board of Directors, and staff.
Consent to random drug and alcohol screenings and security/background checks.
