About The Position

Midwest multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add a Senior Water Systems Engineer to their Chicago Team! This role involves leading a team in the development of hydraulic models, master plans, and the design of potable water facilities and distribution systems. The engineer will also work with permitting agencies, perform quality control, prepare construction documents, represent the firm at meetings, and contribute to business development efforts.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
• 5+ years of potable water system analysis and design experience
• Experience in consulting engineering, public works, or construction
• PE License or ability to obtain through reciprocity
• Expertise in potable water hydraulic modeling (including master planning)
• Expertise with WaterGEMs and InfoWater Pro, plus ArcGIS
• Knowledge of basic principles of water system design/plan preparation
• Ability to travel to client and office meetings using own transportation
• Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of project engineers and technical support staff
• Develop hydraulic models of water distribution systems
• Lead team in preparation of water system master plans
• Evaluate/design of potable water facilities
• Manage water distribution system study and design projects
• Work with local, state, and federal permitting agencies
• Perform quality control reviews of water models, reports, and/or design
• Prepare plans/specifications for construction
• Represent firm at municipal meetings
• Prepare competitive proposals
• Participate in interviews
• Assist with business development
