About The Position

Kleinfelder is hiring a Water System Operator in the Ocala, Florida area. Technical Operators perform functions that support the safe and efficient daily operation of multiple water supply and wastewater plants. This flex position offers up to 15 hours per week and includes approximately 75% field work and 25% office time. The position has multiple levels based on experience and state certifications.

Requirements

Live in Ocala or within 50 miles.
Possess a valid driver's license.
Possess a Class D or higher Water License.
Possess a Class C or higher Wastewater License.
Satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report, and a comprehensive background check following an offer.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain pumps, motors, and blowers.
Complete and follow up on work orders and process control monitoring.
Monitor and record flow meters and system run hours.
Service and maintain equipment and the overall plant.
Clean sand filters and media filters.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot electrical controls with proper training and equipment.
Collect samples for analysis and maintain chain-of-custody records.
Record plant operation details on a computer and in writing, and prepare reports.
Monitor treatment processes and apply standard operational adjustments based on results.
