The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) is seeking a Water Supply & Strategy Analyst to perform routine to moderately complex data analysis and research work. This role involves collecting, reviewing, analyzing, and disseminating water planning and water use data to various stakeholders including regional water planning groups, the legislature, media, TWDB programs, and external stakeholders. The analyst will conduct QA/QC analyses, develop reports, thematic maps, visualizations, and interactive dashboards. A key responsibility will be identifying innovative ways to improve, present, disseminate, and consume planning data. The position also assists with the development, administration, and maintenance of the Texas Water Service Boundary Viewer (TWSBV), regional and state water planning databases, and associated online applications, coordinating with IT and program areas on future application development. The role provides technical, GIS, mapping, and data support for regional and state water plans, supports agency regional water planning staff, and develops and analyzes data content for these plans, offering customer assistance to all users. The analyst will manage datasets and provide mapping solutions for regional and state water planning processes, and may train others. This position works under moderate to general supervision, with limited latitude for initiative and independent judgment, reporting to the Manager of the Water Use and Planning Data (WUPD) Department.
