The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) is seeking a motivated, curious, and result-oriented individual to join the Water Supply Planning Division. This position will serve as the Technical Lead, providing technical leadership in support of the cyclical regional and state water supply planning programs. The role also involves developing and implementing early-stage conveyance and coordination requirements, establishing and facilitating advisory technical groups for collaboration, and integrating these efforts into the state's water supply planning processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in water supply planning at local, regional, and state levels, project development, hydrologic modeling, demand forecasting, risk assessment, and engineering cost estimation. Proficiency in data management (including GIS), strong judgment, communication, and decision-making skills are essential. Experience managing technical contracts and overseeing contractors, along with a strong understanding of Texas water resources, is preferred. This role performs highly advanced and/or managerial (senior-level) engineering, project management, and oversight work, providing technical support and expertise. The position represents TWDB externally, serves as a technical expert for internal teams and external stakeholders, and may train TWDB staff. The role operates under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment, reporting to the Senior Advisor of the Water Supply Planning Division.
