Water Senior On-Site Representative

About The Position

McClure is seeking a skilled Senior On-Site Representative/Resident Project Representative (RPR) to provide construction engineering services for drinking water and wastewater projects. The RPR works closely with project managers and project stakeholder teams and can serve as the primary liaison between the client, contractor, and design team. The role requires representing the Owner's interests, interpreting and enforcing contract requirements, addressing disagreements, and monitoring construction work and follow-through.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 10 to 15 years of related experience.
Knowledge of construction materials and methods, including water, sanitary, and storm utilities; paving and grading; and wastewater and water treatment.
Knowledge of earthworks, foundation construction, wall construction, structural concrete, site utilities, and site paving.
Ability to interpret plans and documents and apply instructions provided orally, in writing, or in diagram form.
Knowledge and full understanding of pay estimates, change orders, and record drawings.
Ability to obtain and maintain Iowa DOT Technical Training and Certification Program (TTCP) certification.
Strong understanding of civil drawings, construction processes, and construction codes.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office experience.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong ability to multitask.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and resolve conflicts.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering degree.
Specific wastewater and/or drinking water construction experience.
Familiarity with 10-States Standards for Water Works and Wastewater Facilities and Iowa SUDAS Standards.
Experience with CAD, REVIT, or other applicable design software.

Responsibilities

Work with project managers and stakeholder teams to implement construction engineering services on drinking water and wastewater projects.
Serve as the primary liaison between the client, contractor, and design team.
Read and interpret plans and enforce Contract Document requirements.
Prepare comprehensive punch lists and monitor their completion.
Understand and address pay estimates, change orders, and record drawings.
Discuss contract meaning and the contractor’s work product as the Owner’s agent when disagreements arise.
Act in the best interests of McClure and the Owner to resolve conflicts.
Take appropriate action as needed and monitor results through follow-through.
Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor with staff.
Resolve conflicts that arise on the job site.
