About The Position

This role involves leading the planning, design, and delivery of water and sewer infrastructure projects. The engineer will conduct engineering analyses, studies, and system modeling, and review plans and specifications to resolve design or construction issues. The position also requires leading cross-functional teams, serving as a technical resource, and coordinating with internal teams, contractors, regulators, and the public. Maintaining accurate utility documentation, including GIS data and as-built records, is also a key responsibility. The role supports operational reliability through occasional on-call or extended-hour response needs and promotes safe, sustainable, and cost-effective engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive civil engineering experience within a utility, water/wastewater, or infrastructure environment.
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification at hire; ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure when eligible, or within two years.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency with engineering software, modeling tools, and GIS/mapping systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to non‑technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with utility design, construction oversight, or municipal engineering.
  • Familiarity with water/wastewater system modeling or surveying practices.

Responsibilities
