JMT is currently seeking a motivated and innovative Water Resources Project Engineer with 8-12 years of design experience to join their Pittsburgh, PA team. This team is involved in a variety of infrastructure projects regionally and leads several initiatives focused on implementing Green Stormwater Infrastructure in a highly urbanized setting. The Project Engineer will be responsible for diverse tasks including design, permitting, construction support, and inspection. A strong understanding across the water resources discipline is expected, with proficiency in drainage design, grading, erosion and sediment control design, stormwater management design, hydrology, hydraulic modeling, permitting, utility coordination and clash detection, specification development, and quantity takeoffs. Requirements

8-12 years of design experience in Water Resources.
Proficiency in drainage design, grading, erosion and sediment control design, stormwater management design, hydrology, and hydraulic modeling.
Experience with permitting, utility coordination and clash detection, specification development, and quantity takeoffs.
Familiarity with Federal, State and local jurisdiction design standards and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with green infrastructure design in urban environments.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

Work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Understand Federal, State, and local jurisdiction design standards and regulatory requirements.
Understand the project lifecycle and design phases, providing high-quality deliverables per client specifications.
Identify watersheds, drainage patterns, and soil conditions.
Delineate drainage areas to points of interest for analysis.
Complete land cover and time of concentration calculations.
Design and analyze stormwater management practices.
Design drainage networks, including pipe, slope, and outfall locations.
Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis.
Develop Post Construction Stormwater Management plans and details.
Develop Erosion and Sediment Control plans.
Complete permit applications for state and local agencies.
Utilize general engineering principles and practices daily.
Prepare technical reports detailing design approach, methodology, and summary of results.
Develop construction cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, prepare specifications, and package construction documents for bid.
Coordinate with utility companies as needed to accommodate designs.
Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline with established quality.
Familiarity with green infrastructure design in urban environments.
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Coordinate with contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, and JMT staff from multiple locations and technical disciplines.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
