About The Position
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Water Resources Intern to join our Renewables team. The qualified individual will support permitting, design, and construction of Solar, Wind, and Battery Storage projects across the country. This position will coordinate with other Civil and Water Resources Engineers to ensure projects are protected from flooding and meet storm-water regulations. Ideal for students working towards a civil engineering degree (or related field). Requirements
- Students working towards a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or related field), eager to apply their knowledge and skills in a real-world setting.
- A self-starter, open to learn, adaptable to change, and thrives in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
- Candidates with a strong foundation in technical writing and communication, proficient in Microsoft Office and PDF editing tools, who can develop and maintain relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the completion of stormwater design
- Watershed permitting
- Hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
- FEMA studies using state-of-the-art technology
- Stormwater modeling
- Floodplain analysis
- Hydraulic design
- Producing quality designs for solar, wind, and battery storage projects across the country
- Gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading software, including FLO2D, AutoCAD, Global Mapper, HEC-RAS, and ArcPro
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- Preparing detailed reports
