JMT is seeking a Water Resources intern for their Virginia Beach, VA office to support with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments, active participation in project design & documentation, gain practical experience and support their educational development. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. The hourly rate associated with this position is $22.00 - $27.00, which is based on education level.
Requirements
- Support with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments, active participation in project design & documentation, gain practical experience and support their educational development.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior or lead (engineers and/or project managers) with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support
- Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, modeling, graphics, design development, and construction phases
- Support the creation of presentation and marketing materials
- Assist with construction phase activities, including participating in site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawings
- Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed
- Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices
- Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members
- Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders
- Collaborate with engineers and other multidisciplinary team members
- Perform other related duties as assigned
