JMT is seeking a Water Resources intern to support with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments active participation in project design & documentation, gain practical experience and support their educational development. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. This internship is being offered at our Tyler, TX or Longview, TX office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior or lead engineers with basic design tasks, including hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and modeling, plans production, estimates, and reports
  • Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, modeling, graphics, design development, and construction phases
  • Assist with construction phase activities, including participating in site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawings
  • Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed
  • Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices
  • Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members
  • Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
