About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Denver, CO office. This role involves assisting project engineers with water resources analyses, design development, and technical tasks, providing hands-on experience in hydraulic and hydrologic engineering. The intern will support project delivery through data collection, modeling, calculations, and engineering evaluations. They will also help communicate design concepts and technical recommendations via drawings, exhibits, reports, and construction documents, and participate in the preparation and organization of project deliverables. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and learning industry standards, engineering practices, and project delivery processes are key aspects of this internship. The role offers opportunities to develop technical and professional skills through mentorship, training, and exposure to various water resources and infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil or environmental engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation

Responsibilities

  • Assist project engineers with water resources analyses, design development, and technical tasks.
  • Support the delivery of water resources projects by contributing to data collection, modeling, calculations, and engineering evaluations.
  • Help communicate design concepts and technical recommendations through engineering drawings, exhibits, reports, and construction documents.
  • Participate in the preparation and organization of project deliverables, including design data, plan sets, specifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and learn industry standards, engineering practices, and project delivery processes.
  • Develop technical and professional skills through mentorship, training, and exposure to a variety of water resources and infrastructure projects.
