About The Position

Houston Engineering, Inc. (HEI) is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Fargo, ND. This role offers the opportunity to make a difference by protecting natural resources and solving complex water resources issues involving both water quantity and quality. This position is suitable for individuals looking to take on more of a project manager role or experienced Water Resources Engineers seeking a better fit. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, or related Engineering field.
Minimum 4 years of experience in the civil and water resources engineering areas.
MN Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain the license within 6 months.
Basic understanding of water resources and associated regulations in Minnesota.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Superior problem solving and analytical skills.
Solid critical thinking skills, along with attention to detail.
Positive attitude under pressure, strong team player, responsible, and self-motivated.
Excellent leadership and project management skills.
Valid driver’s license in good standing with availability for periodic travel.
Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, or hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.

Responsibilities

Prepare studies, reports, and design documents to support plans and specifications for civil and water resources projects and watershed planning efforts.
Prepare hydrologic and hydrology models.
Complete engineering analyses and calculations.
Prepare outline of engineering services, scope of work, and associated budgets.
Develop solutions for various types of Water Resource projects.
Perform project management duties.
Assist in client contact and communications.
