About The Position

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Water Resources Engineer to join its team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The role involves participating in stormwater management and water resources design, from initial feasibility investigations and field inspections to detailed design and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis. Work combines field activities with collaborative design work alongside a team of engineers and scientists. The engineer will contribute to a range of water resources engineering projects, including stormwater design, and may take part in advanced technical training.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related degree.
At least 2 years of related experience.
Demonstrated experience with hydraulic calculations.
EIT certification or ability to obtain it within 1 year of employment.
Ability to perform field work as needed.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or GIS.
Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, typically within the region.
Hydraulic modeling and stormwater design experience.

Responsibilities

Participate in field work, including stormwater management inspections, stream flow analysis, and soil sampling.
Prepare plans, specifications, construction estimates, and design reports under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Interpret analytical data to develop appropriate and applicable project conclusions and recommendations.
Conduct post-construction monitoring of projects.
Perform construction inspection and oversight.
