About The Position

AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Water Resources Engineer to join our growing team of design professionals in our Rockville, MD office. Position will start in May 2027 upon graduation. Typical design tasks include stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels, bridge hydraulics, erosion and sediment controls and other water resources engineering tasks. Requirements

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus in Water Resources
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic modeling (drainage, SWM, floodplain) with commonly used software
• Design knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) Exam preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and reporting.
• Collect and Analyze data for mapping and reporting.
• Design of open and closed drainage systems, stormwater management facilities and erosion and sediment controls.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering documents (plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications) for Advertisement and Construction.
• Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members.
