About The Position

Stantec Consulting Services Inc. is seeking multiple Water Resources Engineers in Austin, TX. This role involves preparing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of riverine systems using HEC-RAS, supporting floodplain permitting and modeling assignments (CLOMR and LOMR), and utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping and figure creation for technical reports and presentations. The position also includes completing technical reviews of stormwater and water resources engineering plans and reports for permitting compliance. Individuals in this position may be paid a discretionary bonus. The work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience; OR a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, and 3 year of related work experience.
3 years of experience with Development of low and high-detail HEC-RAS models in 1D and 2D environments.
3 years of experience with Analysis and interpretation of historical stream gauge data in support of HEC-RAS model calibration.
3 years of experience with Processing geodata sets, including raster data, to support water resources studies and technical reports.
Active U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

Prepare Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of riverine systems using HEC-RAS.
Support floodplain permitting and modelling assignments such as CLOMR and LOMR.
Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to draft maps and figures to support both technical reports and client/public facing presentations.
Complete technical reviews of stormwater and water resources engineering plans and reports for permitting compliance.
