About The Position

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking an experienced Engineer in Training to support its Water Resources design team in the Kansas City office. The work focuses on water-related projects, including drainage and flood control (such as dams and levees), potable and supply water infrastructure, and sanitary and wastewater infrastructure. The role is intended for a self-motivated professional eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Applicants who are new graduates are not being considered.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Water Resource Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited college or university.
• EIT certification, meaning the Fundamentals of Engineering exam has been passed.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in construction plan production, design calculations, and/or technical writing.
• Applicants must be eligible to work without Wilson & Company visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• A master's degree will receive due consideration.
• Knowledge of Autodesk design platforms, such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D, or Bentley platforms, such as MicroStation or InRoads.
• Experience with commercial engineering modeling software such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, and USACE HEC programs.
• Working experience with Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

Responsibilities

• Support field investigations or assessments.
• Perform design engineering calculations.
• Assist in designing various types of water and stormwater infrastructure.
• Provide data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Participate in writing and producing project reports.
• Work under the direct guidance and mentorship of senior engineers.
