About The Position

Dillon’s Water Resources discipline is looking for a Water Resources Designer to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. In this role, you will work on dynamic, high-profile projects while delivering a fully integrated, superior experience to our clients. At Dillon, we operate as one team. Requirements

  • A degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in the engineering consulting industry (entry-level candidates with strong foundational skills will also be considered).
  • Familiarity with professional hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM, PCSWMM, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with the detailed design of stormwater management systems, culverts, bridges, sewers, and open channels.
  • Familiarity with local, provincial, and municipal regulations, policies, guidelines, and environmental permitting requirements (knowledge of federal and provincial flood line mapping guidelines is a strong asset).

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling analysis and design of surface drainage, dual drainage systems, open channels, closed pipes, bridges, and erosion/scour protection.
  • Complete comprehensive watershed and sub-watershed scale hydrology investigations and hydraulic assessments.
  • Develop and implement innovative stormwater management strategies and detailed designs to mitigate flooding for land development, municipal servicing, and transportation projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and assist Project Managers and engineering leads with water resources deliverables across various project scales.
  • Participate in fieldwork, including field inspections, reconnaissance, data collection, and monitoring programs as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical reports and proposals by organizing data and drafting content aligned with project scopes.
  • Contribute to business development activities, client need research, and proposal preparation.
  • Support artificial intelligence initiatives within the Water Resources discipline.
  • Travel to other Dillon offices upon request.
