About The Position

Engage is currently looking for an Engineering Intern/Technologist to join our Water Resources team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers on a wide range of water resource projects that make a real impact in our community. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking individual who wants to grow their career, contribute to meaningful projects, and play an important role in the continued success of our Water Resources team. This is a hybrid role based in Peterborough, Ontario. The successful candidate must be able to maintain frequent, reliable, in-person attendance at the office during normal business hours.

Requirements

  • A water resources or civil engineering technical degree/diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Some one who has experience in water resources engineering.
  • Someone who is proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Someone who is highly motivated, hardworking and an enthusiastic team player.
  • Someone with the ability to interact with our clients is an essential core quality. Engage is rooted in providing strong customer service and client relationships and an important aspect of this position is developing and managing relationships with clients.

Nice To Haves

  • Someone who has an understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D software would be an asset.
  • Someone who has experience with HEC-RAS Visual OTTHYMO and PCSWMM, or other similar software would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support creation of drawings and designs for water resource projects including low impact development features, stormwater management facilities, floodplain assessments, site plan and subdivision developments.
  • Assist with preparing stormwater management and floodplain assessment reports.
  • Hydraulic calculations and hydrologic modelling.
  • Co-ordinate with co-workers and regulatory agencies on assigned projects.
  • Designing erosion and sediment control features and plans.
  • Culvert and storm sewer system design and assessments.
