Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to understand environmental compliance requirements and operational procedures
  • Strong communication, observation, recordkeeping, and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to use maintenance software and other related applications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • North Dakota Class A Commercial Learner’s Permit within 3 months of hire
  • North Dakota Class A Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months of hire, including Automatic Transmission, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements
  • North Dakota Department of Health pH Certification within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of construction or utility work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems and repair
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment, tools, machinery, and water utility systems

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine rounds and inspections throughout the Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) buildings and grounds
  • Collect and analyze process control samples to support the efficient operation of the Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) process
  • Maintain WRF equipment and assets using computerized maintenance software
  • Collect compliance samples in accordance with the North Dakota Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NDPDES) permit
  • Perform preventative maintenance on WRF equipment and assist with major equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Monitor facility operations and make adjustments as needed
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inventories, and chain of custody documentation
  • Perform on-call duties as assigned
