Requirements

  • Four years of technical experience in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental health, geology, biology, ecology, or a closely related field
  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental health, geology, biology, ecology, or a closely related field
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree
  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license
  • Meet the PA residency requirement

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of oil and gas sites to compare onsite conditions with permit requirements
  • Investigate reports of environmental concerns and collect field samples for analysis
  • Review scientific results to help determine environmental impacts and case findings
  • Assist with notifications, documentation, and preparation for enforcement actions
  • Examine environmental plans submitted by operators to ensure compliance with laws
  • Document spills or releases through sampling, photographs, and detailed reporting
