About The Position

The Water Quality Inspector is responsible for the collection of bacteriological and chemical samples to monitor the drinking water distribution system. This role involves performing hydrant flushing along with chemical analysis, responding to customer drinking water complaints, and providing customer service while problem-solving. Additionally, the inspector is responsible for equipment maintenance and calibrations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in customer service, inspections, water/wastewater related activities.
  • Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained 6 months prior to employment.
  • Must be able to function in a principle-based organization that has a culture built on character and core values.

Nice To Haves

  • Obtain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Class D Water Operator License within one (1) year.

Responsibilities

  • Collect water supply samples and transport them for laboratory analysis of bacteriological content.
  • Document chemical and physical parameters of water quality from each sampling site through written and electronic means.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on monitoring equipment and sampling infrastructure.
  • Conduct daily calibrations on instruments.
  • Respond to water quality complaints or issues, document findings and close out 3-1-ls.
  • Coordinate and complete sample collection for residents, schools, and daycares for Lead and Copper Rule Compliance.
  • Deliver professional internal/external customer service.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
