About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking a Water Plant Supervisor to join our Water Project Team in Kapolei, HI. This role involves supervising Environmental Technician crews on-site and assisting with upcoming water construction projects across Hawaii. The position requires some travel, both domestically within the CONUS and potentially globally. The pay range is $26-$36 per hour, and the work involves 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 plant operation, with overtime as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid and clean driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
  • Knowledge of RCRA requirements/regulations.
  • Understands the manpower and equipment required to complete assignments.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Available for 24 hour, on-call basis.
  • Requires speaking, writing, and listening in English.
  • After hire will need to pass a federal level background check, DBIDS.
  • Requires the ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) including levels A,B,C,D & E, including full encapsulation PPE suits which can elevate body temperature substantially during strenuous exertion.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental studies preferred.
  • Experience working with water treatment, building filtration systems, working in wastewater treatment plants highly preferred.
  • 3+ years of supervisor experience is preferred.
  • Water certifications are a plus.
  • Strong mechanical ability preferred.
  • Knowledge of chemicals preferred.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation DOT regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waste codes, manifesting and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Supervises multiple employees and a single plant operation.
  • Operates and works in plant as necessary.
  • Operates a forklift when necessary.
  • Assures all associated paperwork as required for operations is maintained and submitted immediately after processing operations have been completed.
  • Ensures that employees follow and maintain all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensures that supervised operations staff meets all compliance standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
